Our History:
Elno and Jessie Stauffer founded their country store in Paxton, Ohio, (beside Medina County's GreenLeaf Park) in 1914. They worked hard and saved their money and a few years later they moved their growing business to Sharon Center. Elno's store carried a little of everything: hardware, groceries, drygoods, feed and furniture. During his lifetime, Elno served as Medina County Commissioner and was President of the Medina County Fair.
Elno's son, Blake, entered the business after graduating from Ohio State University and serving in WWII. Blake joined the growing chain of True Value Hardware Stores and established Stauffer's as one of the finest hardware stores in the state of Ohio.
Recently, Elno's grandson Dave Stauffer, his wife Lynne, have passed the torch on to Elno's greatgrandson David B. and his wife Heather who are now running the family business. They are assisted by a very dedicated and professional staff. Together they have made Stauffer's one of the area's leading furniture retailers carrying on the tradition of quality, service and value that Elno began over 91 years ago.
